Will Ferrell Hits Bulls / Hornets With Hilarious One-Liners
9th February
Will Ferrell surprised a New Orleans crowd last night, taking the mic to announce the starting line-ups ahead of the Chicago Bulls – New Orleans Hornets game. Will took a break from the movie set (he’s currently shooting on-location in the Big Easy) to hit the players with a few hilarious one-liners. Check out his introductions to Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, Emeka Okafor and more.
The Bulls, however, got the last laugh with a 90 – 67 win over the Hornets.
Pale Pops At The Golden Globes!
16th January
One of the best things about watching the Golden Globes, aside from Ricky Gervais of course (I’m a big fan), has got to be the red carpet – gazing at the gorgeous get-ups our favorite starlets are rocking to the awards. This year, there was a plethora of brightly-colored gowns but, though I appreciate the risk-taking that comes along with vibrant tones, those dresses ‘paled’ in comparison to the pale hues worn by Angelina Jolie and Kate Beckinsale.
Angelina always looks incredible but this may be my favorite look on her ever! Her ivory Atelier Versace gown, with pops of red, was simply stunning.
Kate was dressed to perfection in a nude, form-fitting, floor-length Cavalli that showed off her killer curves. Definitely a win!
Charlize Theron also rocked the nude trend, (from her shoes to her lips) but while the color complements her gorgeous …
Allstate BCS Fan Fest ftg. Cee-Lo, Eric Benet and a Goodie Mob Reunion!!
11th January
As soon as I stepped off the plane in New Orleans last Friday, I was hit by the incredible energy of the city…heightened by an abundance of LSU fans (soon to be disappointed by a 21-0 loss to Alabama) hoping for a big win in the Allstate BCS Championship game, and by music fans looking forward to the Fan Fest concert being held the day before.
I was in town with super-blogger, The Blackspot, (plus a cool production crew) to cover the musical performances and chat with the artists. Headlined by Cee-Lo Green, heartthrob Eric Benet and new teen singer Ahsan were also on the bill.
After heading down to rehearsals we discovered that hip hop fans were in store for an amazing surprise, when we spotted the other members of Goodie Mob – Khujo, T-Mo and Big Gipp! Reunited, their performance …

Now That’s “Swag”
27th December
I heard a report on NPR that I had to share with you! The story details the journey of a word many of us have come to know well, “swag”, from its use within hip hop to its infiltration of mainstream culture.
Most of us know the term swag is derived from “swagger” which, according to this report, was first documented in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Who knew?
Swag is widely used to describe style, confidence and charisma but the meaning has now spread. Check out the report to find out more:

NPR calls “swag” hip hop’s word of the year. I personally vote for “Kray” thanks to Jay and Ye. What do you think?
